Last night I attended the Annual Crazy Bonfire and Music Festival at the Jewish Center of Northern Liberties. It was the best Lag BaOmer scene I've seen outside of Israel. It was a who's who of the Philadelphia Jewish Scene: friends, fellows, frenemies and colleagues were all there.
The music was led by Rabbi Menachem Schmidt, wailing away on an electric guitar, after being released from the hospital that day. He is an inspiration to me both as a Jew and a Rocker.
