I was thinking about a quote from the movie:
"Why did it have to be Eddie? He symbolizes everything that disgusts me. Obviousness. Unoriginal macho energy. Ladies Man..."I like the protagonist's integrity. Sure, to the outside world he is nothing but a bum, and in almost every case, he does not care what you think of him. The protagonist still holds some people in a particular state of contempt, because their very being symbolize the antithesis of his personal beliefs. It seems that most people can't respect the integrity of a bum, but some people have done a lot of thinking, drinking and writing about this subject.
